I’m going to recommend to my readers a writer who lives in Kyiv, Ukraine with his young family.
Graham Seibert says of himself: “I am a refugee from the United States. I left a 25 year marriage and three ungrateful children to resettle in Kyiv. I remarried and have three children.”
Seibert is a smart, articulate man of experience. I don’t agreee with all he says — not by a long shot. Or a COVID shot. But he reads widely, his thoughts are well reasoned, and I have to admit, on those issues where we disagree I may be dead wrong (literally), and he may be right. I guess we’ll see.
But I also know that Seibert respects many of the commentators I respect — Matt Taibbi, Glen Greenwald, and other courageous reporters dismayed by what currently passes for journalism .
Even if your preconceptions do not align with Seibert’s on family, politics, vaccines, the immediate future or recent past, I believe you will be more informed if you read what he has to say. Your own beliefs will be more complete by facing the challenge.
And he’s in Kyiv. The view out his window as the Russians approach is worth far more than the price of admission.
Thank you for introducing me to this as I may not have found Mr. Seibert on my own. I was wondering your views on the situation in Ukraine and hope you'll share something soon.
Very interesting, and I did read some of his blog, you’re right you may not agree with him but willing to read, for a different point of view.
